White and Williams Announces Lawyer Promotions

Two Lawyers Elected to Partnership and Eight Associates Promoted to Counsel

White and Williams is pleased to announce the election of Vincent Barbera and James Burger to the partnership. The firm has also promoted Victoria Fuller, Phyllis Ingram, William Johnston, Eric Porter, Gus Sara, Jenifer Scarcella, Lian Skaf and Brett Tishler from associate to counsel.

The newly elected partners and promoted counsel represent the wide array of practices that White and Williams offers its clients, including education, finance, financial lines, insurance coverage, labor and employment, litigation, real estate, and subrogation. These accomplished lawyers have earned this advancement based on their contributions to the firm and their practices.

Vince Barbera represents businesses of all sizes and pursuits, as well as individuals, in the litigation of commercial and business disputes in court and through arbitration. Based in the Philadelphia office, Vince is actively involved in the local legal community. In 2018, he served as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association and currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Justinian Society.

Jim Burger is a trial lawyer resident in the Cherry Hill, NJ office. Jim handles cases on a wide variety of subject matters, including construction and excess liability, healthcare, and products liability. His clients include commercial property owners, regional hospital systems, and some of the world’s largest product manufacturers and chemical companies.

Victoria Fuller practices out of the Boston office, focusing on business litigation, employment litigation and counseling, insurance coverage, and education law. She has over ten years of experience as a civil litigator in Massachusetts state and federal courts. Victoria is also a certified Level 2 ATIXA Civil Rights Investigator.

Phyllis Ingram is a member of the financial lines group resident in the Westchester office. She has been practicing law for more than 25 years and concentrates her practice on the representation of clients in the areas of management and professional liability insurance coverage and defense, municipal defense litigation, Title VII and employment related litigation, negligence law and other insurance related matters.

Will Johnston is a member of the real estate and finance groups. Based in the Philadelphia office, Will represents clients in commercial real estate transactions and finance, including the acquisition, disposition, financing and operation of retail, industrial, development, shopping center, office, multifamily and hotel projects.

Eric Porter focuses his practice on representing clients in all stages of litigation. Resident in the New York City office, he has extensive experience in both state and federal court in cases involving civil rights issues, education law, ADA compliance and class action defense.

Gus Sara is based in the Philadelphia office and practices exclusively in the field of insurance subrogation, handling large property loss cases. He has successfully resolved hundreds of matters involving commercial and residential fires, explosions, structural collapses, water losses, product liability, construction defects and maritime claims.

Jen Scarcella is based in the New York City office, where she represents banks and other commercial entities, corporations, and life, health and disability insurers in matters involving business tort claims, complex litigation, construction issues, contractual disputes, insurance coverage and related disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, premises liability and product liability.

Lian Skaf has worked in the field of subrogation for over seven years. Resident in the Philadelphia office, he handles major property losses involving fires, water leaks, structural damage, product and construction defects and other catastrophic failures.

Brett Tishler is a member of the subrogation group based in the Philadelphia office. He represents a variety of major insurance carriers and individual claimants to secure complex recoveries in matters involving construction accidents, negligence, premises liability and product liability litigation.
